How does your service differ from nanny placement agencies?

I offer a unique concept in the approach to choosing a nanny--a qualified, experienced clinician who guides, supports and clarifies the decision-making process, while recruiting qualified candidates, until you choose a nanny with the right qualities. Placement agencies will give you a product--the names and documents of applicants available to provide childcare. Many families recognize the most difficult components--knowing what they need, who they would want, and how to evaluate one applicant from the other--is left up to them.

What tools do you use?

I am a licensed clinical social worker and bring over 20 years of clinical experience working with families and children to the process. This combination of education, training, research and private practice guides me in asking meaningful questions to you, interested applicants and their references. The answers to these questions guides us each step of the way allowing you to make an informed and meaningful choice.

How does this process work?

Together in the comfort of your home we determine who and what you need. A report summarizing this evaluation follows. I then do an individualized search from among my vast network of caregivers and contacts in the community and organizations in the Bay Area for leads and referrals. Documents of qualified applicants are sent along and interviews scheduled. I facilitate the interview, evaluation of applicants and negotiations with your applicant of choice. A personalized contract is drawn up and signed by both parties. I follow-up to ensure you are satisfied with your choice. Throughout the process I provide support, guidance and assistance through the inevitable "ups and downs".

What happens if the nanny I hire leaves?
